As we wrap up Domestic Violence Awareness month, we wanted to make sure we took a deep dive into a topic that continues to affect so many--especially with numbers of victims increasing in some regions during 2020's pandemic. In this episode, we have a candid conversation with Florida DeVaul-Dudley about the journey to healing from domestic and sexual violence.

Florida is a Grief & Trauma Life Coach, Speaker, Podcast Host, and Co-Founder of Shining Light In Darkness. She obtained her Bachelor's and Masters of Science Degree from Alcorn State University. Her work experience includes serving in finance as a Certified Tax Preparer, law enforcement as a Police Officer, and healthcare as a Regional Director.


After leaving the field of healthcare, she became an expert in the field of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. She's been recognized as an expert in trauma recovery because of her battles with multiple traumatic experiences firsthand and how she has and continues to improve her quality of life daily. Due to the trauma she endured, she has gained professional certifications in Family Trauma, Trauma Support, Trauma Treatment for Children, and numerous others.


Florida's heartfelt desire is to assist others in using their voice by refusing to be silent about the hidden trauma, suppressed memories, and traumatic experiences they have endured. It all starts with a voice.


The foundation that she co-founded with her husband Ed Dudley-- Shining Light in Darkness-- is a beacon of hope for victims, survivors, and their loved ones. And, her life coaching services through - Florida Soars - provide life coaching service through empowering and forward-moving practice of helping people who feel stuck in particular areas of life and who are desiring changes in significant areas of life and who want to grow with the help of an experienced, skillful and supportive coach.
